Bogart and Bergman may now have some company as I will be utterly committed to this notion…until next time!

Paris, Paris, Paris…where to begin.  The mecca of all things fabulous- fashion, design, cuisine, culture..seeing these worlds combine was an amazing revelation.  All the different forms of expression speak to one another; from the personal expression of street style with people hopping on a Velib (our Hubway) on their way to work or of the style, strength and confidence of a group of girlfriends catching up over cocktails at a corner Brasserie. The city is overrun with style – everything is unique and everyone is an individual.

Needless to say I have returned with a few new favorite sources for inspiration…and with a much heavier suitcase.  A girl can’t rely solely  on her memory ;)

The culprits for my oversized luggage:

Vanessa Bruno  – amazing fashion designer with gorgeous garments and a few beautiful showrooms to boot.

IRO – a go-to for great jeans, a slouchy sweater and a leather bomber-monochromatic heaven.

Merci – a place to spend an afternoon.  A lovely cobblestone courtyard leads you into a cozy bookstore cafe – sit, borrow a book off of the shelf and, depending on your mood, order an espresso and the crumble or opt for a glass of red and settle in for a good few hours. It’s never frowned upon to do both. As heavenly as this sounds, be sure to head away from the cafe and check out the rest of the space (peruse the spot-on apparel collection), and do browse through the maison level – linen on linen on linen…it’s fabulous!

“I have a habit during these colder months (though I’ll rarely admit it) of spending more and more time indoors, dreaming of warmer months. So just as we curl up on the couch and reach for our chunkiest knit throw, hunkering down for a Netflix marathon, I’m fighting the urge and heading outdoors!

Regardless of where we are, right outside our front door there is so much inspiration to draw upon and to influence our interior palettes. Whether it be the rich chartreuse tones of hillside mosses, the deep, cocoa brown fur – reminiscent of velvets and mohairs – of our four-legged friends or the stark contrast of colors and textures on the slopes, it’s all in the details!”

Happy Hunting!
